Christmas fun

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We found the cutest little fat tree at Home Depot this year. And the best part it was the first tree I saw!
I have to admit I decorated the tree after the kids went to bed and saved a few for them to hang up the next night. It was perfect and way less stressful.
A couple of nights ago our family elf made its way to our house from the North Pole. I don't care what people say about the elf on the shelf, I think it is so fun and my babies love it! We really don't do the whole elf is watching to see if your good thing mostly just stick him in fun places and the kids just love all the magic in it! I'm excited to see what kind of mischief buddy can get into!

Sugar cookie time! Baking with little ones can be a little much sometimes but I find if you pre measure everything and put it in little cups it's less stressful for everyone. I laid out each ingredient and step by step we went through the recipe. If you have a free spirit like me keep the other ingredients a little ways away. My Eliana went dumping happy and just started pouring everything in! They turned out good and they loved putting/ eating all the christmas m & ms.
This is my happy. This is my life. I could not imagine spending my days any other way. Yes it is messy and loud and exhausting and frustrating and overwhelming but in some moments it's perfect and calm and beautiful. I will cherish this small little snapshot forever.

Being thankful

My baby boy at his thanksgiving picnic at school. He did so good singing and dancing with his classmates. I am so proud of this boy right here. He has had a rough first year of big boy school but he is really starting to come onto his own. When it comes to music and performing he just lights up. I see a career in the arts for this one!
Enjoying some post friendsgiving rolls and cranberry sauce!
During thanksgiving break we enjoyed a great day at the zoo with one of our favorite people, GIGI!  The kids had a blast and I just love watching Axel get excited at all the animals now.
Thanksgiving photo!
Thanksgiving lunch at my uncle and aunts home with my grandmother. I really don't think we had enough food. Now I know where I get my party planning skills from. My grandmother loves to cook and I've learned so much from her this past year. She is such a strong woman and so feisty. I'm just realizing how much I take after her.
We also went to chases aunts house but for some reason I didn't take any pictures. The kids had a great time turning her house into a wild rumpus!
Me and little bit decided to surprise daddy with a homemade apple pie when he got home. We even made the pie crust! It was my first time attempting an apple pie (I've made an apple skillet pie with store made crust that was awesome. Thanks Trisha yearwood.) this one not so much. I followed Martha Stewart's recipe and it could have had more sugar and next time I definitely need to peel off the apple skin. You win some you lose some. But we had a fun time making it and It looked pretty!
Baking with a baby under my feet is just how I like to bake.

For Sebastian's birthday (october) he wanted to go see the movie- the good  dinosaur and eat pei Wei. Well the movie just came out so we celebrated his birthday in November! It was cute but not the best Pixar/disney movie.

This year has flown by. And I am thankful to be sharing it with this wild bunch.

Friendsgiving 2015

This year we got to host our annually "Friendsgiving" dinner at our home. We were so excited. Chase loves cooking the turkey and I just love the fall smells and decorations! Mini pumpkins are just the cutest! So by the time the house was decorated and the turkey was done, my voice was gone. I mean, if you know me you know I love to talk. And loudly. So having a house full of wonderful people and not being about to chat my little head off was torture. But the party was great and the food was delicious. I am so thankful that we have found this amazing group of people to do life with.

Here are a few snaps that I took of the decor and food

Chase is breaking thirty!

So my hubby turned thirty this past october and I really wanted to give him a super fun birthday. We tossed around a few ideas and we landed on just throwing a bash at his parents house and inviting our friends over. I knew I wanted to pick a theme( oh how I love to theme it up!) that was totally him. About two months ago chase and his dad got really into the show breaking bad. I think they watched the whole series in like a month. Chase was always so excited when he talked about it so I thought it would be cool to incorporate that into his party. I searched Pinterest and found a few ideas and I just  worked from there. My inlaws are also amazing and had some great ideas of their own too!

This was all Chase's idea. Four person beer bucket. And of course the breaking bad sticker on the bucket!
Picked up some succulents (show is set in New Mexico)and made some little signs with sayings from the show.
Mugshot photo wall with photo props : plastic gloves, goggles, wants beard, glasses, and a gas mask.

Pin the face on Gus!

Printed out a better call Saul poster for the garage.
So I read somewhere that Aaron Paul loves these breaking bad doughnuts from this place in LA, so we made our own.
Breaking bad played all night on the tv.
Photos of chase growing up and chases dad made the 30 bacon that Walt gets every year on his birthday.
Found this Tiffany blue punch recipe on Pinterest.
-gallon of Hawaiian punch blue raspberry
-one gallon of lemonade
-2 cups of vodka
Rock candy sticks and little baggies of blue sugar candy.
My go to party cupcakes from sams club with little beakers and blue sugar crystals on top.
Main table:
Cupcakes
Candy
Doughnuts
Blue Jell-O shots
Blue test tube shots
Vodka soaked gummy Bears for the punch.

Heisenberg and his meth. I always jump at an opportunity to wear a wig.
Giant periodic table of elements. And blue lights.
Results of the pin the face on Gus game.

I had such a blast decorating and setting up for this crazy theme.  Disclaimer: I have never watched a full episode of breaking bad.
